Who does not like chaat?
We have saying in Kannada which says, “Bhina Ruche Janaha” This means different people have different tastes. So there is one person who I know does not like chaat. Thankfully in my family we all love them.
So we made sev batata poori as I had boiled pataoes, sev, the tamarind and dates chutney and very little of green chutney I used only that.
To make the sev batata poori you need the following ingredients. The proportions are as your taste. You may add a few ingredients or leave out some.
Pooris (I purchase them)
Boiled potatoes, mashed
Boiled peas (I had a few cholay)
Red chilli powder (optional)
Green pudina/mint chutney
1. First if you are using the pooris used for Pani Poori like me you will have to make a small hole in them to add the ingredients.
2. Mash the potatoes mix with a little chutneys of your liking. Here I have used dates chutney, chilli powder and a sprinkling of the green pudina/mint chutney. (As my younger one cannot eat spicy food).
3. Fill in the pooris along with the peas or cholay.
4. Arrange on a plate sprinkle with a little chaat masala, red chilli powder (if using), and sev. Top up with the chutneys here I have used a little of tamarind and more of dates chutney, coriander and green chutney (optional).
You can also add a little beaten curd on top to get dahi sev batata poori.
